White, black, grey and sometimes cream are usually the colours of the shores of famous beaches. A beach bummer who doesnt know how to swim ( me :p ) has been to many shorelines in and out the Philippines and rarely been to a coast line full of pebbles. In our recent trip to Naga City, with my great online writer friends Christine ( http://www.jovialwanderer.com/ ) , Kara ( http://www.traveling-up.com/ ) and Estan ( http://langyaw.com/ ), we were taken to a haven by our fellas from NagaX just after the coverage of the 1st Mt. Isarog Eco Challenge.
Pebbles as big as your favourite "Panghilod" (rock scrub ?), more or less as small as a quail egg and some are as white as snow. What name would you think best fit the place? of course, White Pebble beach resort!
Strong blue skies fancied our afternoon visit. White Pebble beach is a definite place to go to during summer! Just a few minutes of private travel from Naga Centro, your feet can feel the sea carved rocks on your feet.
Long stretch of white coated coast is just a feast in the eyes, plus the cool breeze from the ocean? sigh.. isn't it divine?
We settled in a very big and nice bungalow in front of the beach that you can rent for only 3500. It has a billiard table inside, big kitchen, two big rooms, big washroom and a big resting area. yeah its pretty big for the price! sulit na sulit! (very affordable) Fabolous! There are other bungalows and cottages you can rent for a very negotiable price! perfect for family outing or even barangay beach day out!
Surprises kept on coming, just across the beach is a museum housing countless numbers of sea shells. From tiny ones to huge ones, from the typical sungka beads to shells that I've never seen before, from plain ones to multi-colored husks! Ah.May.Zing! Discovering some great stuff from the depth of the ocean in front of our eyes!
Boat was waiting for some cave discovering! Since it can only accommodate a minimal passengers, I decided to stay in the beach. You can ask the locals on how to rent a boat to take you to a cavern nearby. They can also assist you if you wish to do some diving as the area also hosts spots good for under water quests.
My dear sissie Chrissy and I took the time to soak into the waters of the beach! oh!! the water is just perfect! not too cold and not even hot. just.. fine.. perfectly lukewarm, She's a great swimmer while I showed her how I "swim", first i take a scoop of water to my arms, then to my hair, then to my shoulders and hair again and then face! viola! I'm all wet and done swimming! LOL just kidding, of course i soaked myself in! Washing away those stress in my body. oh just so.. wow.
Estan, Kara and the rest came back and we were approached by their barangay captain. The people were smiling and very hospitable. Very Filipino. They share some stories about the place and even gave us delicious turons and oh oh oh my favourite!! fresh coconut!! oh copa cabana moment!
Swimming, caving, shell museum gazings, billiards, even trekking are in store for those who will visit the place! But wait.. there's more.. Ahem.. Singing? they also have a videoke machine for rent!
Relaxation and recreation rolled into one resort. No dull moment in this part of Camarines Sur. As the sun was about to set and we're about to board back to the town center, I have to say, White Pebble beach is a great place to visit. Shore, sun, water, sky and nature in a remarkable sanctuary, It defines why is it more fun in the Philippines, more fun in Bicol, more fun in Cam Sur.
